All three AI experts agreed that ethical considerations must be at the forefront of research. "One thing I'm seeing among my own faculty is the realization that we, technologists, computer scientists, engineers who are building AI, have to appeal to someone else to create these programs," said Moore. When coming up with a driverless car, for example, how does the car decide what to do when an animal comes into the road? When you write the code, he said, there's the question: how much is an animal's life worth next to a human's life? "Is one human life worth the lives of a billion domestic cats? A million? A thousand? I would hate to be the person writing that code."

Help I have a friend who is a gym goer Im not sure of his quantity or how long he has been taking steroids, but stopped recently because he had really bad neck pain. No dr or scan, ultrasound etc showed anything. Put on huge pain killer amounts didnt help alot but felt after about six weeks some relief. Until today when he thinks a prior knee issue has flared up. If this a result of steroid abuse how long before it heals? Im pretty sure he wont touch them again. He can handle all over aches and pains but these last two injuries have had him off work.

Just as taking prednisone can cause side effects, reducing the dose may cause problems as well. Prednisone is not addicting like a narcotic, but many patients experience withdrawal symptoms as the dose is reduced. These often include muscle soreness, joint pain, fatigue, and depression. Know that these effects are also temporary and worth bearing to allow a cutback in your dose. If you experience any unusual symptoms as your prednisone dose is reduced, contact your doctor. It may be necessary to temporarily increase your steroid dose until you are feeling better and then taper the dose more slowly.

I played BARRED OWL tape once when I was almost halfway to the Lake. I had hardly hit the stop button when I heard the two BARRED OWLs land in the cedar near me, male on left, female on right, same limb.  Non-vocal. I looked at them through binoculars for two minutes.  The female flew off.  I continued down the trail, got about 40 feet when the male flew over my head, 12 feet above me, down the trail, and landed in a tree just to the west of the trail.  I stayed on the trail, got up to where the bird was, looked at the bird through binoculars. I continued down the trail, but after 25 feet, I turned around to see the BARRED OWL flying at me, low.  The BARRED OWL altered its flight path, and flew over my head to land in a tree that overhung the trail.  I walked under the bird, looked up at it with binoculars.  I continued down the trail. I got 40 feet and the bird called one call- « WHOO!” loud and low- definitely the male. Mr. Nasty.  I turned and walked back to the bird, and looked up at him through binoculars before turning around and continuing down the trail towards the lake. I got about 40 feet when he called again, same call, so I turned around and went back to look at him once more.  I then turned around and continued on to the Lake, where I stayed for about 10 minutes before returning up the trail.   As I approached where he was, I saw him duck out low to the west. Just after I passed by where he was, he gave the same one call.  I continued on and left.
