Creatine has once been implicated in increasing DHT , a more potent androgen that is implicated in power output (good) but also hair loss in susceptible men and prostate cancer (bad). While the increase in DHT and hair loss is not a concern if you have a robust head of hair, those with a receding hairline may experience an acceleration of their rate of hairline receding when using any androgenic supplement that can increase DHT. Despite the concerns with creatine supplementation and hair loss, no trials have been conducted on the topic. Although DHT itself is a negative stressor, creatine accumulation in hair cells is protective of them secondary to increasing energy production; the ultimate effect of creatine supplementation in men with a receding hairline has not been investigated.
Help I have a friend who is a gym goer Im not sure of his quantity or how long he has been taking steroids, but stopped recently because he had really bad neck pain. No dr or scan, ultrasound etc showed anything. Put on huge pain killer amounts didnt help alot but felt after about six weeks some relief. Until today when he thinks a prior knee issue has flared up. If this a result of steroid abuse how long before it heals? Im pretty sure he wont touch them again. He can handle all over aches and pains but these last two injuries have had him off work.
Could there be any link in hair loss between the PGD2 and Absolute Eosinophils. I am a 69 female who worked hard in this last year to lose 40 pounds, and now my once very thick hair is very, very thin, dull, lifeless. I can shake my head and shed like a dog. My protein levels where a below normal range. I have RA levels above normal range, and an auto immune/Morphea (which seems to be in remission). But last blood work showed my eosinophils WAY elevated. I do not have asthma, nor allergic reactions, and doctors just drop the conversation there. I have had an acute case of tendonitis in both hands from using weights that were to heavy for me. That seemed to cause a huge inflammation response, which is about when my hair starting falling out; 3-4 months ago.
